Implementing Fermented Foods

Most people hit a point in their life where they want to make changes in their lifestyle for specific results. The majority of these results stem from goals about losing weight, reducing symptoms, increasing energy, and more. These types of goals can be reached when you begin to incorporate fermented foods daily. When you begin to eat fermented foods daily, you will start to feel better and notice a decrease in negative symptoms such as digestive issues or allergies. Fermented food was originally food put through a fermentation process to last longer. What we know now is there are many health benefits while doing this process to our food. Fermentation creates healthy prebiotics and probiotics. These two bacteria will assist your digestive health while restoring the function of your gut. Fermented foods also assist in lowering your pH levels to 3 or less to digest food properly. Over time symptoms such as acid reflux will decrease or go away completely. There is a variety of ways to incorporate fermented foods into your diet. There’s no better time than now to begin eating such foods.

5 Fermented Foods to Assist Overall Health

1. Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut is cabbage that has been fermented. This food will give you prebiotics and probiotics. It will also lower the pH in your digestive tract. This ultimately reduces inflammation and increases multiple areas such as brain function.

2. Kimchi

Kimchi also contains prebiotics and probiotics. This food will assist in symptoms such as bloating, gas, constipation, and more. Adding this to your daily intake over time will create a positive impact on your health.

3. Pickles

Fermented cucumbers, or pickles, are great for their positive impact on your gut while also replenishing your body. Pickle juice contains electrolytes that can restore and hydrate your body throughout the day.

4. Goat-Milk Yogurt

If you are unable to find this in the store, you can make your own at home with a pressure cooker. This type of yogurt specifically has good digestive enzymes, prebiotics, and probiotics. You can improve the health benefits by adding superfoods such as blueberries.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

Drinking ACV first thing in the morning has many benefits. If this is too strong for you, you could dilute it with water and drink it or use it when you cook. Incorporating this throughout your diet will have short-term and long-term benefits to your health.
